Older adults are especially at risk because of balance problems resulting from poor mobility, age-related decrease in strength and endurance, unsafe footwear, or walking aids. Our therapists can assess your need for an assistive device, and teach you balance and strengthening exercises to help reduce your risk of falling.
One in four persons over the age of 65 will fall in their home. Many of these falls can lead to more serious life threatening issues, including hip fractures. Our Fall Prevention Program and balance training can help you avoid a long recovery process or surgery resulting from a fall.
At Move Better we believe the more active patients are in their own recovery, the faster they will get better. We emphasize teaching self-care and at-home exercise programs on the first visit. Our home exercise programs are customized with specific text, pictures, and exercise videos for each patient.
