
Nate Swarringim, DPT, OCS
Nate earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Old Dominion University in 2014. Maintaining loyalty to his school, he went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from ODU in 2018. In Fall 2019 he attended the Virginia Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Institutes 6 weekend course series. He received his Board Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association in 2021.
Nate grew up in Newport News, Virginia and moved to Charlottesville in 2018. He enjoys spending time with his fiance Erica (Erica Binzer, DPT at Move Better) and doing anything outdoors. Outside of the clinic Nate stays active with mountain biking and road cycling, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the local Cville BJJ gym, hiking, camping, and any other excuse to get outdoors.
At Move Better Physical Therapy his advanced training helps his patients resolve sports injuries of the upper and lower extremity. He has a special interest in treating runners and cyclists. In addition, Nate is a highly skilled clinician ready to help patients with chronic and acute back pain; shoulder impingement and rotator cuff injuries; balance training; and post-surgical care of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.
