Avoid Falls This Winter

Winter is finally here and if the recent weather is any indication, we may be in for some more snow and ice this year! It’s easy to enjoy a picturesque snow day from indoors, but things sometimes get less pleasant once you have to get out in it. Whether it’s walking on icy sidewalks or clearing snow from your driveway it’s important to be careful in order to keep healthy and pain-free.

One of the most common ways to have your snow day take a turn for the worse is if you slip and fall on the ice and snow. The best way to not slip on ice is for there not to be ice in the first place – as the saying goes “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” I still haven’t figured out a way to control the weather, but something as simple as putting out salt the night before it’s supposed to snow goes a long way towards preventing ice buildup.
