Rodney is an advanced practice clinician that utilizes a comprehensive approach centered on sport and functional movement retraining, progressive loading with evidence-based exercise prescription, and skilled manual therapies to help all of his patients. He received his Board Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association in 2008 with recertification in 2019.

He and his wife, local pediatrician Heidi Martinson, M.D. live in Albemarle County with their sons Ryan, Ethan, and Logan. They attend St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Ivy, Virginia. Rodney regularly stays active by coaching SOCA travel soccer, lifting weights, running, mountain biking, and road cycling.
