Move Better Physical Therapy Offers Insurance Participation & Self-Pay Physical Therapy
If you are experiencing pain or want to improve your ability to perform daily activities or sports, you may have concerns about whether your insurance will cover your treatment. Whatever your reason for needing physical therapy, knowing how to access care and how it will be covered is important. If your insurance provider does not cover physical therapy, you have used all your insurance benefits, or if you do not have insurance, there are affordable options to help you get the care you need.
Our Insurance Participation
Insurance companies control if and how much they will pay for your health care, including physical therapy. Most insurance plans pay for medically necessary health care services. They may limit the number of visits they will cover, and not all insurance companies use the same criteria to assess medical necessity. Fortunately, our practice participates in all major insurance plans.
Your plan may cover physical therapy in full or in part. Many plans limit your out-of-pocket cost for each visit to a copayment. Others require you to pay for part or all of your visits until you have reached your deductible. After that, the insurance plan pays 100% up to their set limit. Some insurance companies classify physical therapists as specialists. Certain plans require you to get a referral from your primary care provider before they will pay for any specialist’s services.
If you are using your insurance benefits to pay for physical therapy, our office will process the referral and all billing to make the process simple and straightforward. We will contact your insurance company to find out what your level of coverage may be and inform you about what is covered and what part of our fees you may be responsible for paying.
Our Self-Pay Rates for Physical Therapy
While insurance is great for unexpected medical expenses, it can also place restrictions on therapy, such as visit limits or spending caps. Some cases may be more complex or chronic, and sometimes a patient is engaging in physical therapy sessions for longer periods. For these patients, limits to the number of visits or authorization from insurance can be very burdensome.
Self-pay or cash-based physical therapy can provide more freedom when you are choosing a physical therapist and a treatment plan. Self-pay physical therapy can allow for greater flexibility in choosing treatment modalities and techniques based on the patient’s unique needs, preferences, and goals. Self-pay physical therapy is also an option if you choose to see a provider who is not in your health plan’s network. Choosing self-pay physical therapy can open up your options and allow you to select the best care for your needs.
We offer self-pay physical therapy at a rate of $95 per visit for patients who have used all of their insurance benefits or do not have insurance coverage for physical therapy. We offer a first-visit evaluation for $95 per visit and each follow-up visit is $95. We do NOT sell expensive packages as our treatment plans to get our patients the best results. In fact, our therapists typically see a patient 1 x per week or less!
Our Payment Plans for Physical Therapy
Being able to afford care should not be a limit to your overall wellness. If you cannot afford physical therapy and cannot obtain insurance coverage for necessary services, you may qualify for one of our payment plan options. If you qualify, your copayment obligations can be waived, or we can help you schedule payments to make care more affordable.
When you are experiencing pain or cannot perform necessary daily activities, it is imperative that you get the treatment and care that you need.
